Year of The Tiger

This Year of the Tiger humidor showcases the art of David Goines originaly published in  2010 as a solid-color blockprint, printed by letterpress in an edition of 750. According to the Chinese Zodiac the year of the tiger cycles every 12 years. Considered to be brave, cruel, forceful, and terrifying, tigers are the symbol of power and lordliness in the Chinese culture. David Lance Goines was born in 1945 in Grants Pass, Ore., and has lived and worked in Berkeley as a printer and graphic designer since 1965. He has designed and printed 223 posters for local, national, and international businesses, as well as graphic work for many private clients. He is the author of five books, has collaborated on three, and his work has been the subject of six others. He is an 18-gallon blood donor. His work can be viewed online at goines.net.
