Ito Shinsui belongs to the great masters of the Shin Hanga movement. His speciality were bijin-ga, the
depiction of beautiful women, and landscapes. In 1952 the Japanese government declared his art work an
intangible national treasure, the highest public award a Japanese artist could achieve.
"After The Bath" is based on a woodblock print by Ito Shinsui, circa 1917.  It is 21"
long by 14" wide.  It is covered with walnut, mahogany, bubinga, sapele, maple and
wenge.
